I sometimes wonder what people must think when they pass by my house....especially the day after a theatre production!
Starlight Costumes
An Introduction...
Welcome to Starlight Costumes, I hope you enjoy your visit.
I have been interested in theatrical costumes since childhood and learned to sew at a very early age. I design and make historical costumes, dance and theatrical costumes, fancy dress, prom dresses and bridesmaid gowns.

Here comes summer...
Well it's not quite summer yet...and even a little too cold for spring, so I've been cheering myself up with lots of pretty bright fabrics! This little dress has been made from left over fabrics from another project, the striped fabric works really well with just a little plain contrast.

This has to be my favourite dress so far. It's made in a beautiful watercolour fabric over a white base. The fitted bodice has a small sweetheart neckline and the very full skirt has a fluted, petal front edge with a pretty button trimmed rosette to finish.
Spring has sprung...
It's a lovely spring day today...made me break out the spring fabrics!
This cute little outfit was made from two 1/2 yards of fabric that contrast nicely, I added a small band of the top fabric to the bottom of the skirt.
Pretty in pink....
Another style of wrap over dress, this one has waist ties with a button detail and is made in the prettiest pink with daisy pattern fabric.

St patrick's day...
Another recycled denim skirt. This time I added a pleated trim and big fabric ties in a faux patchwork shamrocks printed cotton. It would make a lovely themed skirt to wear at a St Patrick's day celebration.
